Description: Senior Margin Analyst Global Futures and Options House Operations is responsible for the support and processing of listed futures and options contracts, executed by multiple business groups on exchanges worldwide. The department%27s daily processes include the booking of trades into Operation%27s processing system; updating of market settlement prices into same system; generation of position and p&l reports, processing margin payments; General ledger feed and reconciliation; clearing broker account reconciliations and resolution of trade discrepancies. The Senior Margin Analyst position plays a critical role in ensuring the Bank%27s books and records (including the general ledger) are accurate. The candidate will be responsible for reconciling the Bank%27s cash equity balances to the clearing broker/exchange numbers. These balances are cash settled each day with the exchange. The role is also responsible for identifying, reporting and ensuring resolution to the Bank%27s trades which if not correct, will affect the trader%27s positions and p&l. This in turn can create exposure to market risk and potential financial loss. The position requires the cand
idate to have excellent analytical skills and be detail oriented. The ability to work in a high volume busy environment and produce accurate results is essential. The position requires daily interaction with colleagues, section supervisors and middle offices so excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. The ability to multitask whilst still meeting daily deadlines is also essential. Knowledge of Excel is beneficial. The Senior Margin Analyst will anayze existing processes and look for opportunities to identify process improvemnts or efficiencies gained. Position Responsibilities:
Daily reconciliation of internal records to clearing broker statements to include - cash, trades, commissions, positions and settlement prices . Perform daily preliminary trade checkout . Identify and report/resolve all trade discrepancies . Identify and report all brokerage fee discrepancies . Preparation of cash payments and journal entries . Monitoring and timely notification of deliverable contract information to middle offices . Production/reporting of MIS data . End of Day Process Position Requirements * Excellent analytical skills * Ability to multi task * Excellent written and verbal skills * Good decision making skills * Detail oriented * Consistently meet deadlines * Be able to efficiently and accurately produce high quality work Occassional weekend work required.
