Description: As the Senior Tax Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Analyze quantitative statistical data of complex problems of various types. Develop new methods of analysis, select methods of data presentation such as charts, diagrams, and graphs. Work involves some accuracy, a considerable amount of creativity, perception and initiative in order to make decisions and a high level of independent judgment. Occasionally instruct or assign work to others. Accurately prepare Federal, State and local income and non-income tax returns in a timely fashion. Analyze existing and proposed statutory and regulatory tax requirements. Prepare and analyze financial statement reporting data. Prepare financial and tax related data on charts and diagrams for internal use. Create project plans, solve problems, and develop new methods of analysis. Develop and present data to other members of the organization. Search out and correct inconsistent financial and tax related data. Write internal reports and summaries of financial and tax findings (including risk-based cost benefit analysis). Monitor and audit reports to assure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with relevant tax require
ments. Prepare, analyze, and select methods of presenting various statistical data. Prepare data on charts and diagrams. Solve statistical problems and develop new methods of analysis. Establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project. Coordinate input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions. Keep abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise. Actively identify new areas for learning and take advantage of learning opportunities. Represent the client and the Tax Staff in a professional, confident and mature manner. This role has frequent contact and networking with professionals within the Tax Staff and other corporate professionals and limited contact with governmental officials.

The successful candidate demonstrates a basic foundation of problem solving, analytical, and tax technical skills and possesses well developed personal computer skills, including Microsoft Access and Excel skills and able to develop a strong command of relevant tax compliance systems, (InSource, PTS, STS, TMS, and TMSII). Technical understanding of financial and tax reporting requirements is required. This person will have strong oral and written communications skills; produces accurate, well documented, technical positions. He or she will be self-motivated and will have a strong level of interpersonal, team, and partnering skills. This ideal candidate seeks responsibilities outside of assigned tasks and has the ability to prioritize assignments and manage work load within statutory or internal deadlines. This person demonstrates high levels of productivity and strong performance; identifies tax, duty, fee or other cost saving opportunities. The ability to provide advice with limited review is needed. A Bachelors degree with a major in Statistics, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics or equivalent training is required. Candidates will need a relatively high level of a
nalytical ability where problems are complex, demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area, and appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities where problems are complex, strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships, and the ability to network and collaborate cross-functionally are necessary. A Certified Public Accountant is preferred, as is experience in public accounting, tax consulting, or directly related government experience (IRS or State or Local department of taxation).
