Description: Job Code 08-0344 Title Generation Controller City Newark State DE Description Job Purpose: Directs the operation of the generation assets in compliance with criteria, operating instructions and guidelines established by Conectiv Energy, PJM, NERC and FERC. On a continuous basis, monitors and evaluates generation conditions and performance, anticipates problems and implements strategies to avoid or react to market conditions. ? Manages the implementation of energy contracts in accordance with Conectiv, PJM and FERC guidelines. ? Acquires and disseminates generation information and notifies the various transmission entities and appropriate Conectiv Energy personnel. ? Maintains open, timely and accurate communications with all generating plants and Conectiv Energy personnel. ? Surveys market conditions to optimize generating assets and to acquire market information. ? Records, logs and maintains accurate records of generation and energy market data. ? Provides support and backup for the Physical Transaction Desk. ? Keeps up-to-date with technology and development by participating in various training opportunities. Maintains accreditation and certification as require
d. Requirments Required: . Working knowledge and understanding of business/economics or engineering, as obtained through trade school or Associates degree in business, engineering or related field, AND an in-depth knowledge and understanding of generation assets and/or distribution, power plant, or systems operations similar to those used on the job. OR the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. . Experience demonstrating skill communicating, orally and in writing, with personnel at various levels within and outside of the organization. . Experience demonstrating advanced skill using PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, Internet browser, and e-mail software. . Ability and willingness to complete the PJM Initial Training Program generation course within the first year of employment in position (based upon course availability). . Ability and willingness to obtain the PJM Operator Certification within two years of entry into the position. . Ability and willingness to maintain accreditation and certification as required by all relevant entities. . Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with tight time constraints,
working extended hours as required. . Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts and be flexible to schedule changes. . Ability and willingness to work in a team environment. . Must successfully pass Criminal History Records Check.

Preferred: * Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or Finance. * Experience demonstrating skill directing the operation of generation systems in compliance with criteria, operating instructions, and guidelines established by the organization, PJM, NERC and/or FERC. * Experience demonstrating skill monitoring, evaluating, and quickly responding to generation conditions and performance. * Experience demonstrating skill monitoring and reacting to market conditions to optimize generation assets, anticipate problems and implement strategies.
