Description: Job Code 08-0198 Title Accountant I - Conectiv Energy City Newark State DE Job Description The accountant will be responsible for all state and local tax compliance for Conectiv Energy companies. Compliance work will include preparation of tax returns for gross receipts taxes, sales & use taxes, property taxes, motor fuels taxes, utility taxes and other miscellaneous taxes. It also includes calculation of state income tax apportionment factors, and other tax and accounting duties as assigned. The job will require some travel to the Conectiv Energy office in Exton, PA. Job Requirements Required: * Bachelors degree in Accounting OR equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. * Experience demonstrating skill preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. * Familiarity with tax accounting. * Experience demonstrating skill using basic functions of PC-based word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail software. * Ability and willingness to work under tight deadlines and work extended hours as required. * Ability and willingness to travel and work between two company locations (that is,Newark,DelawareandExton,Pennsylvania). * Abili
ty and willingness to interact with various levels of internal and external personnel. * Must possess a valid drivers license. * Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check. Preferred: * Masters degree in Accounting or a related area or CPA or other professional accounting designation. * Knowledge of energy and/or utility industry. * Knowledge of state and local taxes for the Mid-Atlantic area. * Experience demonstrating skill preparing tax returns for motor fuel/petroleum distillates taxes. * Experience demonstrating skill using SAP and/or energy trading software (for example, Nucleus).
