Description: Purpose/Description:
The ADT-NA Methods Specialist (Business & Systems Analysis) is responsible for establishing and enhancing one set of processes, methods, tools and / or environments for application development and maintenance. This role is focused on the software independent ADT competence areas of Application Development Lifecycle (ADP) and Business Engineering (BE) but will also include work in the areas of Quality Assurance (QA), Project Management (PM), and Maintenance Management (MM).
Core Responsibilities:
- Implementation of Requirements Management & Usability Techniques
- There is a need for ADT to begin delivering standard Requirements Management and Usability Techniques such as Use Case Modelling, Prototyping, detailing Functional and Non-Functional requirements etc. within NA. The group is also investigating tools to assist with requirements management and this role take the lead in these activities.
- Establish Business Engineering (BE) Techniques within North America
- It is essential that we develop applications based on sound business processes. More often than not this is not the case and the IT project is seen as a way to establish business processes. In NA there is a need to start to provide support to the business in process mapping and change management. This role will be responsible for taking the standard global offerings within the BE area and rolling them out into NA.
- Support for PM, MM and QA areas
-This will involve providing support for training and mentoring that is already being provided in the Project Management, Maintenance Management and Quality Assurance areas.
- Inform Group and external customers of Global ADT offerings in the General Methods area.
- This involves working with the Global ADT Functional Managers (GFM's) in the General Methods area and being aware of new / enhanced processes, methods and tools that are becoming available and communicating these to our customers in NA.
- Represent NA in the Global ADT team
- Need to review globally provided processes, methods & tools with customers in NA and provide feedback to the GFM's. Need to be proactive in ensuring that global processes, methods and tools proposed meet the requirements of the NA customer and that they add value to the business. Also need to communicate and promote NA regional requirements for processes, methods and tools and any ideas for improvements to the GFM's.
- Plan training programs and provide training material
- Once processes, methods and tools are identified for roll out in the NA region the methods specialist works with the GFM's and provides training material catered to the needs of the audience in the region. Also owns and manages the training plan and budget for the regional roll out.
- Act as a teacher in scheduled training courses
- As part of the roll out of processes, methods and tools the method specialist will be expected to be a "content expert" with the ability to provide / deliver the regional instructor led training.
Coaching:
On a day-to-day basis give guidance / support to application developers in the usage of processes, methods and tools.
Communication:
- Establish and promote competence networks, including arranging seminars and workshops.
- The job will be hosted at a IT North America site as part of the ADT-NA General Methods team.
- The role will have a functional reporting relationship with 3 Global Functional Managers of the GFM.ADT organization as well as a line reporting relationship to the manager of the General Methods team within ADT-NA.
Skills & Knowledge:
The individual we are looking for will have a wealth of experience in the area of Business Analysis within Application Development. They will have worked on large projects handling elicitation of requirements and managing them through testing to delivery of the final working application. Secondly, a wider understanding of the overall Application Development Lifecycle is desirable along with a training background focused around promotion of best practices.
As the successful candidate, you should possess the following merits:
" Business / Systems Analysis (+5 years)
" A wide and solid IT background (+10 years)
" Training background and customer focused.
" Experience in the many aspects of the application development lifecycle (development and maintenance).
Minimum Education and Experience:
A strong interest in developing organization best practices, sharing knowledge, and training activities is required. An experience in these areas will be a significant 'plus'.
Result orientation and accountability are key values for this position. Additionally, we consider the following qualities as being of particular importance:
