Description: We have an exciting new position open for someone to help build a team that will move into high-content cellular assays You will be responsible for implementation of high-content cellular assays and cellular pathway analysis in support of drug discovery programs, development, automation, validation, and the implementation of quantitative high-content cellular assays to determine phenotypic effects and mechanism-of-action of small-molecule drug candidates. You will screen newly synthesized small molecules and determine cellular EC50s in established cell based assays to include and not be limited to cell proliferation, cytotoxicity, apoptosis, cell cycle, and reporter-based assays. You will participate in and contribute to cross-functional drug discovery teams and maintain accurate and comprehensible written records. Where appropriate, you will publish scientific findings in peer-reviewed journals or other forums and support discovery biology objectives with a team player attitude. This position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent in Cell Biology with 2 or more years of industry experience. A background in cancer biology and/or cellular signaling pathways is necessary. You must be a self-motivated team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. You must have a proven record of scientific writing with publications in scientific peer-reviewed journals with extensive experience with high-content cellular assays, cellular imaging techniques, or high-content screening. Previous experience with the evaluation of small molecule drug candidates in cellular assays is preferred. Familiarity with the drug discovery process is a plus. Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to interact in a cross functional environment are required.
